A South African soul now painting her dreams in New Zealand! Captivated by art from a young age Ruth remembers spending hours sketching her favourite celebrities and animals.

In 2018 she felt her creative voice calling her back to the world of art. In 2021 she embarked on an incredible art course with MAI that has been a wonderful journey of transformation. Experimenting with various drawing and painting techniques has been so refreshing and inspiring. Being part of a community of artists has opened her eyes to the world of art and has had a profound impact on her life.  It's not just about the art, but about a journey of self discovery and finding a deeper connection with God.

Through the program, her passion for painting women and animals as subjects was reignited. She loves to capture the contrast of their soft, gentle beauty yet quiet confidence and resilience. She is inspired by nature, especially animals and flowers with a particular fondness for big cats.

The abstract, impressionist and renaissance movements have had an influence on her style. Her process includes engaging with realism and adding elements of abstraction using different mediums to create inspiring, beautiful images.

Future endeavors are to keep learning and beautify the world with inspiring works of art. Abstract art is a style she plans to explore further for its freedom of expression and intuitive process.
